RetinalGenix Technologies reports that it has developed a high-resolution retinal imaging system designed for real-time remote monitoring. The prototype employs near-infrared and green modes, and does not require a technician or pupil dilation to view a 40° field of vision, the company said in a press release.
The imaging system is designed to enable secure, real-time remote monitoring around the clock, from virtually any location, the company said. RetinalGenix plans to refine the prototype prior to manufacturing. When a final device prototype is completed, the company contemplates installing units in various settings, including pharmacies, malls, general practices, specialty medical offices, hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent care clinics, nursing homes, and independent living facilities, with physicians able to access data remotely for immediate assessment.
