At the American Retina Forum (ARF) national meeting in August, Eyedaptic introduced the Eye6 with Ivy, a groundbreaking wearable vision aid featuring an AI-powered visual assistant. The Eye6 is designed to empower individuals with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other retinal disorders that cause vision loss.
The Eye6 integrates advanced multimodal generative AI and large language models, allowing Ivy, the visual assistant, to read text, describe rooms, locate objects, and assist with daily tasks in 99 languages. Weighing just 3 ounces, the smart glasses are designed for extended use and offer full HD 1080p resolution for superior image quality.
“With the Eye6, individuals with vision impairments now have a visual assistant to help them do everyday tasks and activities that weren’t possible before,” said Mitul Mehta, MD, Eyedaptic’s chief medical officer. “They can ask Ivy to read a page to them or describe a room, allowing individuals to remain independent and have a better quality of life.”
