EssilorLuxottica has announced an agreement to acquire Espansione Group, an Italy-based company specializing in noninvasive medical devices for diagnosing and treating ocular and retinal diseases. Espansione is recognized for its innovative photobiomodulation (PBM) and intense pulsed light (IPL) technologies, which are used in ophthalmology and dermatology across more than 40 countries.

This acquisition reflects EssilorLuxottica’s continued investment in the med-tech space, aligning with its strategy to elevate industry standards and enhance patient care solutions, the company said in a press release. EssilorLuxottica aims to leverage Espansione’s cutting-edge technology to advance its mission of improving vision health.
